Luxury Kitchen Remodeling in Manhasset and the North Shore

4.8 from 25 Google reviews

Founded by Yeheskel Sharbani and now led by his son David, Elite Kitchen & Bath designs your kitchen in-house and Express Contracting builds it, with one point of contact from first sketch to final walkthrough.

Where the designer and the builder share a last name

Elite Kitchen & Bath has offered luxury kitchen remodeling in Manhasset and across Long Island's North Shore since 1984. It is a design-build firm and a licensed, insured general contractor, so design, engineering, permits, construction and installation all run through one team and one point of contact.

That team is still a family. Yeheskel Sharbani, an electrical engineer, started the company.

His son David grew up on its job sites and now leads it as president. Most work comes from referrals and repeat clients, and the owners stay involved in every project, from a new quartz countertop to a full gut kitchen.

Luxury Kitchen Design-Build

Space planning, custom or semi-custom cabinetry, stone counters, appliance integration and lighting design, then construction by the same team. Popular requests include large entertaining islands, walk-in pantries, coffee and beverage stations and smart home features. The firm also designs Kosher kitchens and chef-style cooking spaces.

Primary Bathrooms

Spa-style primary baths with curbless and steam showers, large-format tile, skylights and wall-hung Italian vanities. Elite handles the plumbing, tile and glass as well as the design, and several of its Great Neck master baths were full extensions of the home rather than simple updates.

Custom and Imported Cabinetry

American and European cabinetry, including RUTT and Italian lines, plus appliances and finishes from partner manufacturers. Cabinet choices range from semi-custom to fully custom and imported luxury. Built-in wall units, hutches and bars are designed to the inch, and Elite won a Cesar Italian Cabinetry award for outstanding design.

Whole-Home, Co-op and Extension Renovations

Full-home remodels, Manhattan co-op apartments, extensions and interior and exterior work, all managed from the Manhasset office. Elite coordinates filing, zoning and permits in-house. Clients have stayed in their apartments during major remodels while the crew kept the work area neat.

Small jobs get the same care

One Google reviewer had only a quartz countertop and subway tile backsplash installed and called the work exceptional. The owners replied that they treat all jobs, large and small, with care.

Two generations of Sharbanis in Manhasset

Yeheskel Sharbani worked as an electrical engineer in a nuclear power plant before founding the company in 1984. His rule was to do it right the first time.

His son, David Sharbani, started working for him as a teenager, has spent over 38 years in design and remodeling, and is now president. David's mother, born in France, gave him his love of fine design.

Today David's team starts each kitchen by asking how you use the room now and how you want to use it. The team speaks English, Hebrew, Chinese, French and Polish.

Common questions about a Long Island luxury kitchen

What does a luxury kitchen remodel cost on Long Island?

Elite publishes these ranges: a cosmetic update runs about $35,000 to $60,000 and up, a full kitchen renovation $75,000 to $150,000 and up, a luxury custom kitchen $150,000 to $300,000 and up, and estate-level kitchens $300,000 and up. Cabinetry is usually the largest part of the budget.

Can I walk into the Manhasset showroom?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome Tuesday through Saturday. Hours are Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with Mondays by appointment and Sundays closed. You can also book a private design consultation at a time that suits you.

Do I need to hire a designer and a contractor separately?

No. Elite Kitchen & Bath is the design side and Express Contracting is the licensed, insured builder. Together they handle design, engineering, filing, zoning, permits, construction and installation, so you have one point of contact and one source of accountability for the whole job.

How do deposits and cabinet orders work?

After your first meeting you see a preliminary design and budget. If you go ahead, a design retainer is typically due and is often applied toward your cabinetry. Cabinets are ordered only after the final design is approved, generally with a 50% deposit. Appliances must be chosen before that point.

Do you renovate co-op apartments in Manhattan?

Yes. Co-ops are part of the firm's regular work, and its service list includes the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Midtown, Gramercy Park, Soho, Noho and Tribeca. One client's small co-op kitchen was gutted, the sink moved and three kinds of lighting added in about two months.
